It’s very easy to fall into the trap of wanting to transform yourself beyond recognition but this is not a good idea! You still want to look like you. After all – these photos will last a lifetime!
What is a boudoir photoshoot?
A boudoir photoshoot is an empowering and confidence boosting photoshoot for women to embrace their natural Bodies through artistic photographs.
They can be used for a gift to a significant other, a gift to yourself, or simply a why not situation.

The list is endless! Gifts for any occasion… for social media… or even as a fuck it why not!
How to prepare?
Here are some of my top tips for preparing for a boudoir photoshoot session…
Dress for comfort!
Wear loose baggy clothing on the journey to the shoot! – This is so you don’t start your boudoir photoshoot with lines from your jeans all the way down your legs! which equals less editing for me so a quicker gallery send back time!
2.Don’t fake tan!
Unless you are INCREDIBLY good at it! For the same reason as the first tip.. less editing time, receive your gallery quicker! (Just ask if you’d like me to make you look more tanned in the images!) If you don’t have regular spray tans, now is not the time to try it out!
3. Do not Starve yourself! (THIS IS A BIG NO NO)
I know I know! You book your boudoir photoshoot and immediately go, right lets get rid of this weight before the session. This is NOT a good attitude to have. In fact its the complete opposite of what a boudoir session is for. A boudoir photography session is essentially helping you LOVE your body. The skin you are in, and not to try and change it. So for the morning of your session, it’s very tempting to skip breakfast, but trust me when say boudoir photoshoots are HARD. You’ll NEED your energy and do not want to feel rubbish and shake during your session. Instead have a light healthy breakfast and plenty of water.
4. Go shopping!
Choose sets that YOU love and feel confident in! This is the perfect opportunity to go out and buy yourself even just one brand new set that makes you feel INCREDIBLE! There is no point bringing a set to a session if you do not feel 100% confident in it. You want to feel sexy and beautiful at all times and your set choices will really reflect these emotions! There is never a bad time to treat yourself to sexy new underwear!
5. Try not to damage your skin!
This includes things like sunburn, bruises and dry skin! Time your photoshoot around your activities! You don’t want to do a boudoir shoot a week after your rock climbing session. Make sure to wear suncream when out In the sun in the lead up to your session. And moisturise those legs! A little shine goes a long way in boudoir photoshoots!
6. Come with an open mind!
You might decide before you arrive that you just want to do a few easy poses and be done with it… BE ADVENTUROUS! through your session ill suggest lots of different poses and ideas! Don’t be shy to show off your birthday suit!!
7. Relax…
My utmost priority is to make you feel as comfortable as possible at all times. These shoots are fun. And exciting! Try not to scare yourself too much beforehand! I am just a woman making other women look and feel gorgeous! And I LOVE what I do.
Still unsure on what to wear?
When booking your session feel free to mention in the consultation that you’re unsure on what type of sets to go for. I can help you with this! With 4 years of experience I have worked with many different body types and can advise on some perfect sets to suit your silhouette!
So there you have it! All of my top tips to prepare for a boudoir photoshoot. But above all else… ENJOY IT!!!
These sessions can be a once in a lifetime experience and whilst I know you will be nervous – do try and embrace it!
You will love it and you’ll love your final images.
I promise!
